About the EU4business project

Micro, small and medium enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina have the potential to create growth and create new jobs. With the aim of strengthening the BiH economy, the EU4Business project of the European Union encourages the development of entrepreneurship, export-oriented sectors, tourism and agriculture, as well as rural development.

For this purpose, a total of 10m euros has been earmarked through a grant.

The end users are micro, small and medium enterprises, farmers and entrepreneurs, with special emphasis on young people, women and vulnerable groups. The project also deals with improving the business environment in BiH. The results will be measured by new jobs and increased exports and sales, as well as better use of EU funds.

The EU4Business project is worth € 16.1 million and is jointly funded by the European Union (€ 15 million) and the Federal Republic of Germany (€ 1.1 million). The project is being implemented jointly by GIZ, ILO and UNDP, from April 2018 to March 2022.

Short description of the project "Sarajevo Outdoor City"

Outdoor tourism in the vicinity of Sarajevo as well as in the whole of BiH has a huge potential, which is confirmed by various studies at the domestic and international level.

Providers and organizers of outdoor tours do not have a unified and standardized platform through which they can advertise and sell their tours. Also, the level of digital knowledge and the costs of developing a digital solution do not allow them to offer their outdoor tours to a wider domestic and international audience.

Systems of direct payment cannot be implemented through social networks because they are not yet supported in our country.

In this way, micro and small organizers of outdoor tours are not able to provide sufficient financial security in order to provide themselves, but also all involved, with a safe inflow of money during the season.

The Sarajevo Outdoor City platform fully addresses these challenges. A modern digital tour and sales management system allows all legal entities that want to sell their tours to unite, modernize, standardize in this way and thus significantly shorten the path from offer to customer.
