Climbing the Dariva Crag
Suited for new, as well as more experienced climbers.
There are 3 crags situated close to the city centre of Sarajevo including Dariva, one of the oldest sport climbing areas in Bosnia. The climbing at Dariva is quite technical on mostly vertical limestone faces. There are a few bulges and slabs that are characterized by smaller features such as crimps and rounded holds.
There are nearly 50 routes at Dariva across a wide range of grades and there are some 2-pitch routes.

Description
Less than half an hour walk from the Sarajevo city hall (Vijećnica) you can find the Dariva crag. At Dariva crag climbers can anjoy over 50 sport climbing routes in the difficulty range from, 5c to 8a+
Dariva crag is east oriented, and best hours for climbing are after 1PM.
Itinerary
Morning:
- We gather at Vijecnica City hall at 10:00AM
- Our guides provides the instructions and answeres all potential questions
- We all get geared up and ready.
- At 13:00 we start the climb
- We can enjoy the surroundings and take pictures at the top of the climb.
- Climbing session is finished at 16:00
- At 17:30 we are all done, and can grab a cup of coffee.

Climbing instructor:
- Climbing instructor is provided by organiser.
Equipment:
- All necessary equipment is included and provided by the organiser.
Lessons for beginners:
- A lesson about the most important climbing knots, tying and proper communication.
- A lesson about belaying lead climbing and attaching to an anchor at the top of a climb
- A lesson about climbing on a route.
Meeting Point and Contact
Meeting point:
- City Hall Vijecnica (Main entrance) at 09:00 in the morning.

- Multi-layered clothing
- Hiking footwear preferably ankle boots
- One spare dry-fit T-shirt
- Jacket for protection against cold and wind
- Backpack with a snack and 2 liter of water
Important
Cancellation:
- The organizer can cancel the tour in case of announced bad weather conditions. Cancellation will be announced no later than 48 hours before the start of the tour. The full refund will be issued by the organiser.
- The participant can cancel the tour 7 days before the start with and receive a full refund.
