Description

A two-day mtb adventure near the city. The first day of the tour starts from City Hall (Vijecnica) and after only 20 minutes of biking we are already in the nature.

The ascent through picturesque terrains ends on the Motka mountain near Vogošća (1234 m), from where an interesting descent follows the local forest road.

On the second day, we make a transfer to Nišići by car (approx. 1 hour drive), from where a round trip starts on one of the most beautiful plateaus in BiH. In Oćevija on Mount Zvijezda we will visit old iron forge, the only place in Europe where iron is melted and forged still in a pre-industrial way, as it was done 800 years ago. The end of the tour and lunch is planned in the Ethno Bey village in Nišići, where you can get acquainted with ancient crafts from this area in one place.

Itinerary

Day 1:

The tour starts from the meeting point at City hall (Vijecnica) at 09:00 in the morning. We will move quickly from the urban area to the beautiful nature. The ascent leads to the mountain lodge on the Motka mountain, from where, after a short break, we climb the very top (1234 m). This is followed by a dynamic descent and return to the departure point.

Day 2:

The tour starts from the plateau of the Nišići and we then ride towards the slopes of the Zvijezda mountain. The terrain is a combination of asphalt and macadam, undulating and very pleasant to drive. In Oćevija we will meet the old way of iron processing, and in the Ethno Bey village we will visit the exhibition of many other old crafts from this area with indigenous exhibits. Lunch in the Ethno Bey village is accompanied by local culinary specialties. Return to Sarajevo is scheduled in the late afternoon, so there is enough time for an evening tour of the city.
